About the hotel

An 85 bedroom country house hotel, set in landscaped gardens close to the m11, with large indoor pool. Built around a Jacobean Chantry house in the conservation village of Churchgate Street with a fine restaurant.

The Swallow Churchgate Hotel is a delightful Country House Hotel, built around a Jacobean Chantry house, conveniently located just off Jct 7 of the M11, 12 miles from the M25 and 12 miles from Stansted airport.
Set in the conservation village of Churchgate Street, just outside Old Harlow, the hotel has 85 bedrooms, including 22 executive rooms and a fine restaurant.

The leisure centre has a large indoor pool, sauna, spa, solarium and fitness room. Our award winning restaurant offers a fine selection of English and Continental dishes, and the bar, with its own terrace, overlooks the landscaped gardens.

Business Facilities: The Hertford Suite: A substantial venue with its own private bar makes the Hertford Suite an excellent choice for a large conference or wedding celebration. Accommodating a maximum of 200 reception guests in chandeliered elegance, it is well suited to formal boardroom or classroom style delegations with up to 45 and 80 delegates respectively.

With ground floor access, allowing for easy unloading and loading of equipment, the Hertford Suite is ideal for conferences, exhibitions, training courses and lectures, dinner dances and wedding receptions.
The Hertford Suite with TV, video and audio/visual presentation facilities, has natural daylight with blackout and spotlight facilities and has a dance floor and stage area. Secretarial, fax and photocopier facilities are also available.

Meeting Rooms: The Essex, Kent and Hampshire Rooms: A select choice for the full range of receptions and business functions, the Essex and the Kent rooms lead on to the terrace for summer drinks reception. Like the Hertford, the Essex also benefits from direct car park access and contains its own private bar.

The Hampshire is a newly built complex for smaller, more formal delegations and the Kent is air conditioned.
The rooms are ideal for conferences and banqueting, wedding receptions throughout the year and drinks receptions on terrace during summer months and can cater for 20 to 80 delegates in theatre style.

The Norfolk and Cambridge Rooms: The Norfolk and Cambridge Rooms with boardroom provide ample space and seating for small delegations. These rooms are ideal for small meetings, training courses and lectures. The air-conditioned rooms, complete with slide and presentation equipment, have ample natural daylight and blackout facilities.

Spa Activities: The hotel boasts a superb leisure club with heated indoor pool and spa. Refresh yourself in the sauna and spa or burn off those excess calories in the gymnasium. The hotel also provides a fitness room and Solarium at a small additional charge.

5 minutes from junction 7 off the M11. Exit junction 7 towards Harlow A414. Continue over roundabouts and at the fourth roundabout turn right on to the B183, signposted Hatfield Heath. Over first roundabout following signs for Churchgate Street.

At second roundabout, turn right signposted Churchgate Street. At t Junction in 100 metres, turn right. Drive through the village past the church and the hotel is at the bottom of the hill on the right.
